Will the pixel dimensions change?
The width and height stay the same. We change the encoding quality and format to reduce file size. An already optimized image may produce a larger file.
Which images are supported?
Use JPG, PNG, or WebP images up to 30 MB. To protect device memory, images are limited to 24 megapixels and 12,000 pixels per side. Animated WebP files are saved as still images.
Will my original photo change?
Your original file is unchanged. The compressed image downloads as a new file. Metadata, such as camera information, may be removed.
How to check a compressed photo
Select a photo, reduce quality gradually, and compare the original and output file sizes. Zoom in on small text or faces to check quality.
An already compressed photo may shrink very little or become larger. Adjust quality or compare JPG and WebP output.
Use WebP for transparent images. JPG replaces transparent areas with white.
